Kung Fu San Soo

Frank Woolsey Studios

 Instructor:  Dave Sword

I was seventeen years old in 1972 when taught Kung Fu San Soo by Dave Sword in the Santa Ana studio by South Coast Plaza.  Here is a photo copy of the first 29 lessons. Back then we wrote down our lessons and practiced them.  Pasted to the cover of the lesson booklet is a Frank Woolsey studio card.

I still remember Dave Sword and his savage warrior stories.  We were captive listeners to the gruesome details.  Another thing I remember about Dave, his assistants would hate to give demos with him when a prospect would come through the front door and enquire about lessons.  His demos were so dangerous that often times the assistant would get hurt.  Gotta love the guy for sure. He was one bad-ass, a pit bull in the field of San Soo.
